A senior scientist at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory of the U. S. Department of Energy, Office of Energy Efficiency & Renewable Energy installs a 30-tube system in Golden Colorado. The system heats a 105-gallon twin coils tank to supply hot water for a family of five. A discharge valve releases hot water if the tank temperature exceeds its design temperature of 205 Fahrenheit.
